Administrative Support - Age UK Redbridge

Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering

We are in need of administrative support for all of our projects to run and expand.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Computer input.
  • Updating paper records.
  • Mail shots.
  • Shredding.
  • Helping people to take part in monitoring surveys.

What skills do I need?

Skills, personal attributes, qualifications and experience:

  • Be confident speaking on the telephone.
  • Friendly and professional.
  • Understanding of need for confidentiality.
  • Empathy & patience.
  • Reliability.
  • Sense of humour.
  • Ability to identify problems and raise concerns.

Application process:

  • Email expression of interest.
  • Volunteers are sent a welcome pack and application form on expression of interest.
  • Following application, volunteers will be invited to an induction meeting (held monthly).
  • Informal interview.
  • Trial period.
  • DBS check required.
  • References: 2 references. One reference provided by a previous employer to cover a two year time period, and one from a friend.
  • Average length of recruitment: 6-8 weeks.

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

Ideally we would like volunteers to commit to one morning or afternoon per week for a minimum commitment of six months. Age UK office wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilet facilities.
