*Saturday Hainault Forest Volunteer Workday*

Vision Redbridge: Nature Conservation

Volunteering work days in Hainault Forest are all about supporting the forest management plan. Sessions are led by the community forest ranger who supervises the activity, providing advice and support when needed. Activities vary from week to week in response to what needs to be done on site.

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Cutting back vegetation. 
  • Planting trees.
  • Maintaining pathways.
  • Contributing to ongoing projects on site.

What skills do I need?

Skill, experience, qualification and attributes

  • Interest in the outdoors. 
  • Keen to learn new skills. 
  • Outdoor boots and clothing is advised.
  • No previous experience in forestry is required!
  • We can provide training on how to use equipment correctly.
  • Need to be 16+ years.

    Unfortunately, our volunteering sites are often located deep within the forest with limited accessibility. Therefore, this volunteering opportunity will not be suitable for some individuals.

    Volunteer sessions are always led by a forest ranger who is available to provide support during the session.

    The 247 and 362 buses stop directly outside the site. Regular volunteers can be added to the RingGo exemption list for parking.
