MoonWalk London 2023 – Event Volunteers Needed. Volunteer with us and Celebrate 25 Years of MoonWalking!

Walk the Walk

The Moonwalk London Volunteers -Saturday 20th - Sunday 21st May 2023 

Join our night-time party and hundreds of other Volunteers at The MoonWalk London on Saturday 20th May 2023 from Clapham Common! Bring your energy and enthusiasm, and help us celebrate 25 Years of MoonWalking, by supporting the thousands of Walkers get through the night and raise millions for breast cancer patients and research!

Main responsibilities and tasks.

The roles you could take part in:

Backstage, Baggage, Call Centre, Clean & Recycle, Cyclist, Directional, Driver, Entrance Gate/Start Line, Finish Line, Help Desk, Meet & Greet, Pop-Up Shop, Route Marshal, Service Station, Water Station, Volunteer Tent Support.

  • Are you a dedicated and organised person, passionate about helping others?
  • We recruit hundreds of Volunteers to make The MoonWalk a safe and enjoyable event; looking after our Walkers as they take to the streets of London overnight, and above all giving them the encouragement they need to complete their epic challenge.
  • Join in the party atmosphere in MoonWalk City on Saturday Evening, with help needed from around 6 PM through till midnight.
  • A busy period when our Walkers and Volunteers arrive en masse, from litter picking, to registering baggage, to handing out Volunteer uniforms or help managing the queues of excited Walkers, there is so much to get involved in!

The Night-Time is where the challenge really gets going for our amazing Walkers. If you like the nightlife, marshalling, or giving out water whilst surrounded by London’s famous landmarks, this could be for you! Start times vary between 8 PM and midnight, depending on your role, and last on average 8 hours. We can also offer site-based roles at MoonWalk City throughout the night. Early finishes can of course be requested.
Finally, the early morning team take the helm on Sunday Morning, starting between 5-6 AM until midday. Watching the sunrise against a London skyline is quite a sight to see! This truly is the most testing time for our Walkers… whether you join the route or MoonWalk City teams… your kind and motivating words could be all that is needed to get someone across that finish line!

  • All roles will develop teamwork and confidence, no matter what you do on the night… so why not bring your friends and family along to share this unique experience!

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications

  • You simply need a positive and hard-working attitude and be willing to help a great cause!
  •  Saturday 20th May 2023 -times can be arranged discussion with organisers
  • Sunday 21st May 2023-times can be arranged with discussion with organisers
  • All Volunteers must be over 13 years old - those between 13 and 17 must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 years old who is also Volunteering.

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

Saturday Evening Crew – 20th May 2023 Join in the party atmosphere at MoonWalk City, starting around 6 PM through to midnight. With things just getting started this is a busy period when our Walkers and Volunteers arrive en masse! Help us make this a night to remember by choosing one of our many different roles, including Baggage, Entrance/Start Line and Water Crew. Saturday Overnight Crew – 20th May 2023 With roles based both in MoonWalk City and out on the route, this is the perfect opportunity to cheer on all of our wonderful Walkers. Plus, if you have any friends or family taking on the challenge, a hug and a cheer from a friendly face goes a long way and even watch them cross the Finish Line! With MoonWalk City based roles starting around 10 PM through to 6 AM Sunday morning. Start times on the route vary between 7 –11 PM, depending on what part of the route you are based, and last on average 8 hours. Roles include Route Marshal, Water Station and Cyclist. Transport is provided from Clapham Common. Sunday Morning Crew – 21st May 2023 These early birds support our Walkers towards the end of their journey... the most testing and inspirational part of their challenge! Starting around 6 AM through to midday; roles include Route Marshal, Finish Line and Clean & Recycle Team.

  • Are there any age limits?
    Please note if you are under the age of 18 at the time of the event, you will need to register with a guardian over 18 who will also be Volunteering.
