We have a 93-year-old veteran who is a portrait painter and a writer with 2 books published. In the past, he was a Chief of Chemistry for a business, and after that, a lecturer at the London Business School. In other words, our Member has lots of experiences to share.

Born in London, he joined the Royal Air Force RAF Melksham in Wiltshire where he was a Technical Training Officer, training in electronics.

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Our veteran would like to meet a male who is interested in motor bike and antique clocks restoration, woodturning and reading, to talk about national and international affairs and accompany him and his dog on short walks in his local area.
  • Visiting on a weekly basis on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm to befriend our Member.

What skills do I need?

Skills, attributes, qualifications and experience

  • Volunteers must be over the age of 18.
  • Understand the importance of relationship boundaries.
  • The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. 

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

Weekly visits on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
