Volunteer Support worker

Winners Community Group promotes social integration, health and wellbeing to reduce the level of inequality among local old people from BAME communities.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • To work alongside a member of the management committee responsible for day to day running of the organisation for purpose of enhancing performance and growing the organisation
  • Managing service workers workload in relation to health and wellbeing programmes
  • Responsible for health and safety of service users, sign posting to other services, providing advocacy services and drawing up activity rota
  • Maintaining link arrangements with other service providers in the borough
  • Perform limited fundraising functions.

  • Show evidence of experience as a support worker with a general level of education

  • Minimum age requirement: 18+
  • DBS checks

Details

Volunteering will take place in the community of Redbridge. There is flexibility but ideally looking for a minimum commitment of 2.5 hours per week for six months. Mainly needed on Thursdays.
